Two 32-inch flagships, two philosophies
The Q32S and the G32P are the same size and only 50 euros apart. Yet they answer opposite needs: the Q32S bets on QD-OLED contrast and speed, the G32P on the 6K sharpness that a Mac shows at its best. Here is how to choose.

Comparison
Same size, opposite strengths

Contrast: OLED plays in another league
On the Q32S, each pixel produces its own light and switches off completely to display black. The contrast is no longer a ratio you compare, it is practically infinite: a starry sky, a night scene or a dark interface keep their pure blacks next to the brightest highlights. The Nano IPS Black panel of the G32P reaches 2000:1, which is excellent for an LCD and twice a classic IPS, but a backlit panel can never fully switch off a pixel.
Sharpness: the 6K advantage on a Mac
This is where the G32P takes over. Its 6144 × 3456 pixels give 223 pixels per inch, the same density as Apple's own 6K reference. macOS displays it in HiDPI mode as a workspace of 3072 × 1728 points, with every point drawn by exactly four pixels: text is as crisp as on a MacBook screen, at 32 inches.
On the Q32S, 4K over 32 inches gives 139 ppi. On a Mac, you choose between a Retina-sharp image with large interface elements (the equivalent of 1920 × 1080), or more space at 2560 × 1440 with a slightly softer rendering. Our article on Retina, ppi and scaling explains this mechanism in detail.

Speed: 240 Hz against 60 Hz
The Q32S refreshes up to 240 times per second, with a response time of 0.03 ms: motion is sharp, without trails, in fast games as well as when scrolling. The G32P is a 60 Hz work monitor, perfectly fluid for office work, photo and editing, but not designed for competitive gaming.
Brightness and everyday use
An OLED panel shines very brightly on small areas, up to 1 000 nits in HDR, but limits its brightness when the whole screen is white, to around 250 nits. The G32P holds 500 nits across the entire surface. In a bright room, on white documents all day long, that difference is felt.
OLED also asks for a little care with static images: hidden dock, screen sleep when idle, moderate brightness. Nothing restrictive, and we detail everything in our guide to OLED burn-in. The G32P has no such constraint: you can leave the same window open for ten hours.

What they have in common
Both cover 99 % of DCI-P3 in 10-bit, both have a glossy finish that keeps colours deep, and both connect to a laptop over a single USB-C cable that carries the image, the data and up to 100 W of charging. Both mount on a VESA 100 × 100 standard and are made in machined aluminium.
Our recommendation
Gaming, films, HDR: the Q32S, for its perfect blacks and its 240 Hz.
Mac, photo, video editing, design, code: the G32P, for its 6K density and its full-screen brightness.
Bright room, static windows all day: the G32P.
FAQ
Q32S or G32P: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Q32S and the G32P?
Both are 32-inch monitors covering 99 % of DCI-P3. The Q32S is a 4K QD-OLED at 240 Hz with near-infinite contrast. The G32P is a 6K Nano IPS Black at 60 Hz, with 223 ppi and 500 nits across the whole screen.
Which one is sharper on a Mac?
The G32P. At 223 ppi, macOS displays it in HiDPI with a 3072 x 1728 workspace where each point uses exactly four pixels. The 4K Q32S at 139 ppi is sharp, but less dense.
Which one for gaming?
The Q32S: 240 Hz, a response time of 0.03 ms and OLED contrast. The G32P runs at 60 Hz and is designed for work.
Is burn-in a risk on the Q32S?
The risk exists on any OLED with static images held for a long time. Hiding the dock, letting the screen sleep when idle and keeping a moderate brightness are enough for normal use.
Do both work with a Mac on a single cable?
Yes. Both connect over USB-C, which carries the image, the USB data and up to 100 W of charging for a MacBook.
